At the heart of the Christian faith is our participation in the life, suffering, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ as Lord. The 40 days of Lent, beginning Ash Wednesday and ending with Easter celebrations are an important part of that participation. Many of us have observed Lent by fasting, sacrificing a favorite entertainment for a few weeks, or setting aside money for a special cause. But don’t bother if these rituals are a substitute for living right. The Lord thunders through the prophet Isaiah: “I’m tired of your church services, your sermons, your praise and worship, your Lenten rituals. These things mean nothing if you’re not obedient to me, and if you don’t undo the violence in your society, the injustice that cries to heaven.” This Lent, join us on a journey to pursue justice – it’s better than giving up chocolate! Sundays, February 21st to March 28th, 10:00am.
