Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:36

Come all who thirst, come to the water.
Come, all who are weary;
Come, all who long for forgiveness.
The Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ has washed over us,
And our gracious and holy God says, “Come”…

We respond:

“…his body the bread, his blood the wine
broken and poured out all for love
the whole earth trembled and the veil was torn
love so amazing, love so amazing…”

(Jesus Messiah)

“…hungry I come to you for I know you satisfy
I am empty but I know your love does not run dry…”

(Hungry)

“…when I fall down you pick me up
when I am dry you fill my cup
you are my all in all
Jesus, Lamb of God, worthy is your name…”

(You Are My All in All)

“…all of you is more than enough for all of me
for every thirst and every need
you satisfy me with your love
and all I have in you is more than enough…”

(Enough)

“…we taste you ever living bread
and long to feast upon you still
we drink of you, the fountain-head
our thirst to quench, our souls to fill…”

(O Jesus, Joy of Loving Hearts)

“…you are faithful, you will ever be
hallelujah, hallelujah!
how awesome is the Lord Most High!”

(Awesome is the Lord)

Amen.

ONE foundation

We are God’s temple, built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Any other perspective or acting in any way opposed to this is immature at best. At worst, we can fall prey to self-seeking.

“My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest fram
but wholy lean on Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand”

(The Solid Rock)

“Glory, honour, power forever, forever
I will stand on the solid rock of Jesus
I will lay down my life at his feet
I will cast down my crowns
Before the holy Lamb of God
I will sing, I will sing…”

(Glory, Honour, Power)

ONE cross - The cross appears foolish to the world. But the cross demonstrates to us the wisdom and power of God. It is the centerpiece, the essential message of the church. Christ, by his Spirit, empowers our living.

This week our songs will focus on the cross of Christ:

“O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
bids me come and die
and find that I
may truly live

O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
all who gather here
by grace draw near
and bless your name”
