Holy Week is the name given to the week before Easter Sunday. Holy Week traces the steps of Jesus to the cross. It’s a week when Christians read the Bible, pray, worship and remember Jesus’ death and resurrection. Here’s a Holy Week challenge: spend 10 to 15 minutes with God each day this week. Need help? The Road to Jerusalem:

“Hosanna, Hosanna
You are the God who saves us
Worthy of all our praises…”

“So with everything we are and everything we have
We pour out of offerings
And if ever we should fail
The rocks will cry out
And crown him the King of Kings!”

The Road to the Cross:

“Alas and did my Saviour bleed?
And did my Sovereign die?
Would he devote that sacred Head
For sinners such as I?

The strangeness of love
My life in your death
In your brokenness
My wholeness revealed
Your bonds are my freedom
Your sorrow my song
And by your wounds I am healed…”

The Resurrection and the Road to Emmaus:

“Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!”

“Come and see what God has done
All the wonders under the sun
Come and see what God can do
HE’S ALIVE! In me and you!”

We were made for work. But our fall into sin has corrupted our God-given, image-bearing engagement in work. Even in our work we can be susceptible to exploitation and unfair treatment. God calls us to justice in our work.
