We begin our worship with the reminder “…you and I were made to worship” and continue with a sung “call to worship”: “…come let us sing for joy; let us shout aloud to our King; come let us worship God; lifting holy hands, bless his name”. We respond with this acknowledgement: “…O God our Father, we come into your presence, here in your courts to lift our heart in praise”.
Our Call to Confession reminds us that the Father is looking for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth and our prayer of confession acknowledges that our worship often fails to be what it should be. We continue with the assurance “…our God is mighty to save” and our response to that assurance: “shine your light and let the whole world see, we’re singing for the glory of the risen King”. As we worship with the giving of our money gifts with continue with a song of praise to “…Father, Son and Holy Ghost”.
We follow the message with a song of commitment: “…I bring an offering of worship to my King; no one on earth deserves the praises that I sing; Jesus will you receive the honour that you’re due; O Lord, we bring an offering to you”. And we remember that the worship we bring is more than sung or spoken words of praise. After God’s blessing we end with this doxology: “…blessing and honour, glory and power, be unto the Ancient of Days”. Amen.
Street Faith: Getting By With Patience and Prayer - James 5:7-20
Speaker: Ken Boonstra
When hard times hit, there are only two wise responses: be patient and pray. Be patient, the Lord is coming. And pray, for prayer is powerful and effective.
