Jesus said:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself.” Luke 10:27

As we spend several weeks exploring what this verse means through a series of sermons from the book of Luke, so our worship will reflect our love of God and others and explore what it looks like to show this love –
with all our heart (by what we choose);
all our soul (by what we feel)
all our mind (by what we think)
all our strength (by what we do).

Ways to prepare for worship:
-Read Luke, chapters 10, 11 and 12;
-Reflect on the ways you can worship God and show love to others with your heart, mind, soul and strength, both in our gathering for corporate worship and in your everyday life;
-Reflect on these words (for Sunday August 1st that express “mind” worship:

“The heavens declare God’s glory. God’s truth is subtle – baffling the intellect. Each new dawn is a miracle that each new sky fills with beauty”

“You are the Lord, the famous one. The heavens declare you’re glorious. Great is your name in all the earth”

“You, O Lord, are high above all the earth; you are exalted far above all Gods and we exalt you, O Lord”

“Great and loving are you, O Holy One. We praise you with all our hearts”

“Shout to the north and the south. Sing to the east and the west. Jesus is Saviour to all, Lord of heaven and earth”

“Be now my vision, O God of my heart”

“To God be the glory, now and forever. Praise his holy name!”

Amen.

“Great is your faithfulness, you never change, you never fail”

“All I have needed, your hand has provided”

“You are everything we need”

“Speak your eternal word that does not change”

“Open the eyes of my heart, I want to see you”

“Every good and perfect gift comes from you”

“You alone do wondrous works, your glorious deed excel”

“The whole earth let your glory fill”

“Jesus in your name, we pray, come and fill our hearts today”

“I will sing of my Redeemer and his heavenly love for me; he from death to live as brought me, Son of God with him to be”

To love God with all our hearts is to make a deliberate choice to give ourselves back to God in response to all he has given us.

“Willingly we choose to surrender our lives, willing our knees will bow, with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we gladly choose you now”

To seek the Lord with our whole heart is to make a deliberate choice to follow his directions for our lives.

“Today I choose to follow you”

“All to Jesus, I surrender”

“Lord, I give you my heart, I give you my soul, I live for your alone… Lord, have your way in me.

“Beautiful Saviour… truly I’d love thee, truly I’d serve thee…
Beautiful Saviour… glory and honour, praise, adoration, now and forevermore be thine”

Amen.
